Beginning on 7th October, the exhibition Design di Filiera. Fotografia di un ecosistema italiano che declina la creatività in capitale economico, culturale e sociale (Supply Chain Design: A Panorama of an Italian Ecosystem Transforming Creativity into Economic, Cultural, and Social Capital) aims to challenge the traditional notion of the supply chain, highlighting how this Italian model actually represents a significant portion of our nation’s wealth and identity. The concept explores ceramic production, showcasing the transformation of districts into supply chains, networks, and clouds, fuelled by investments in Creative Industries, with design as a fundamental element. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award. This prestigious award is presented annually at Cersaie, the leading trade fair that showcases the latest innovations in the ceramic cladding sector. Organised in collaboration with Confindustria Ceramica, Cersaie, and EdiCer, the exhibition will be held from 8th to 27th October at the ADI Design Museum. The museum, known for its permanent collection of the Compasso d’Oro award (a historical record of Italian design from 1954 to the present day), brings design culture to Italy and abroad, and also organises exhibitions focused on contemporary design. Through a video installation, the exhibition will trace the evolution of the supply chain concept, exploring the characteristics, history and key players of the ceramic supply chain, as well as the role played by ADI in the sector. ADI-award-winning products and their images will be on display, partly recreating the complex and varied, sometimes even scattered, arrangement typical of the production chain. This will highlight the material quality and design of the elements and objects on display.
The Giove free-standing washbasin from the Dolcevita collection, winner of the 2017 ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award, will be showcased.
